Here at Calon Cymru we understand that fostering can be demanding at times and requires a huge time commitment, which is why we pay our foster carers a generous allowance that both supports the foster child and acts as a reward for the carer.

At Calon Cymru Fostering we provide training and 24/7 support to our exceptional team of foster carers to help encourage positive relationships for vulnerable children and young people placed in our care.

What is therapeutic foster care?
As a foster carer, you will encounter children with many different needs, and previous experiences. Some of the children that come into our care may have had to deal with abuse, trauma or severe disruption in their lives. The role of our foster carers is to provide a safe environment where children and young people can form healthy relationships and regulate their emotions. Read more here
The Finances of Fostering
Calon Cymru are on the ball, and it is a guarantee that as long as you have a placement, your money will go into your account. You will get additional money just before the child’s birthday and just before Christmas to allow you to buy gifts etc. A generous mileage allowance is paid for travel to and from contact, training, meetings etc.
